The WGA 2019 Annual Meeting in Colorado attracted more than 400 attendees, who watched the Western Governors engage in public conversation with the likes of Interior Secretary David Bernhardt and revisit the work that resulted in the creation of Western Governors University.
The meeting concluded with the election of North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum as WGA Chair and Oregon Gov. Kate Brown as Vice Chair.
After Hawai'i Gov. David Ige passed the gavel of leadership, Gov. Burgum closed the meeting by inviting the audience to attend the 2019 Winter Meeting (Dec. 13-14 in Las Vegas, Nevada). He also shared a video with striking images of his home state, narrated with the words of Theodore Roosevelt, to promote the 2020 Annual Meeting in Medora, N.D.
