Ahead of its hearing, Unearthing Innovation: The Future of Subsurface Science and Technology in the United States, the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology received a transmittal letter from the Western Governors’ Association that outlined the Governors’ bipartisan energy policy. The letter of July 31, 2023, signed by WGA Executive Director Jack Waldorf, also provided the Committee with a copy of the June 2023 report of the Western Governors’ Heat Beneath Our Feet initiative, which conveys recommendations for accelerating the development and deployment of geothermal technologies in the West.
