As an instrument of the Western Governors for bipartisan policy development, the Western Governors’ Association convenes experts from all levels of government, as well as non-governmental organizations and the private sector, to facilitate information exchange and promote collective action on issues of critical importance to the western United States.
The policy resolutions of the Western Governors’ Association (WGA) define the full scope and detail of WGA’s policy positions. Western Governors vote on the resolutions on a semi-annual basis, and each resolution has a three-year term. After which, they are either updated and renewed, or they expire.
