Each year the Western Governors' Association hosts a variety of meetings throughout the region to convene policy experts, exchange information, and foster collective action.
The 2025 Winter Meeting featured Western Governors and their distinguished guests in public conversations about the energy needs for data centers, health care, broadband, the Farm Bill, and much more.
The 2026 Annual Meeting will take place at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley, Utah.

The third workshop of the Western Governors’ Association’s Chair initiative, Energy Superabundance: Unlocking Prosperity in the West, will be held in Phoenix, Arizona, on December 17 and 18 at the Hyatt Regency Phoenix (122 North 2nd Street, Phoenix, AZ).
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs will host this workshop to explore topics related to energy production and generation. Policymakers and experts from across the West will engage in discussions examining strategies for meeting growing demand, permitting and siting new generation, critical mineral supply chains, distributed energy resources, and opportunities for unlocking emerging energy technologies.
Register hereEach year, the Chair of the Western Governors’ Association (WGA) chooses an initiative on which to focus the Association’s convening power and policy prowess. The findings of the WGA Chair initiative are memorialized in an initiative report that is released at WGA’s Annual Meeting.
The Annual Policy Forum is focused on addressing capacity challenges to equip western communities to undertake locally led community and economic development efforts.
