WATCH: Western Governors discuss wildfire response at WGA 2020 Winter Meeting

The Western Governors’ Association held its 2020 Winter Meeting on Dec. 10, with 12 Western Governors participating in the virtual meeting hosted by WGA Chair and Oregon Gov. Kate Brown. (Read a recap and watch videos of sessions).

The meeting included a roundtable discussion by Western Governors about the historic wildfire season in 2020 and steps that states can take to improve landscape resilience, including the increased use of prescribed fire. WGA Vice Chair, Idaho Gov. Brad Little, moderated the session, which included Governors Jared Polis of Colorado, Mark Gordon of Wyoming, and Steve Bullock of Montana. Kim Zagaris, of the Western Fire Chiefs Association, also participated. Watch the session on Youtube or below.
