WATCH: Conversation with Microsoft President Brad Smith at WGA 2020 Winter Meeting

The Western Governors’ Association held its 2020 Winter Meeting on Dec. 10, with 12 Western Governors participating in the virtual meeting hosted by WGA Chair and Oregon Gov. Kate Brown. The Governors discussing their ongoing work to manage the impact of COVID-19 and their response to this year’s widespread wildfire season. (Read a full recap)

The meeting also included Microsoft President Brad Smith, who participated in a conversation with Western Governors Doug Burgum of North Dakota and David Ige of Hawaii.

The three discussed issues such as broadband availability and how technology has enabled government, the private sector, and education to adapt during the pandemic. Smith also shared Microsoft’s work to upskill more than 25 million people to acquire more technical skills, as well as the use of data to improve healthcare. Watch the session on Youtube or below.
