In correspondence with the Senate Committee on Homeland Security Committee and Governmental Affairs, the Western Governors’ Association (WGA) submitted several policy resolutions to help inform the committee’s upcoming hearing entitled, Nation on Fire: Responding to the Increasing Wildfire Threat. “These documents… articulate Western Governors’ policy positions and recommendations relevant to pre-fire risk mitigation, active fire response, and post-fire recovery,” read the letter of March 12, 2024, which was signed by WGA Executive Director Jack Waldorf.
