In comments submitted to the National Park Service for the draft framework of the National Transportation Strategy, The Western Governors’ Association outlined the Governors’ collective policy to improve national park infrastructure. The letter of February 3, signed by WGA Executive Director Jack Waldorf, urged the Department of the Interior to, “expand visitor facilities, create new visitor destinations, use technology and real-time data sharing to diffuse overcrowding issues, and explore the expanded use of public transit and shuttles, bicycle and e-bike rentals, and other efforts to decrease vehicle congestion while maintaining visitor access.” Read, download the letter to learn more.
