WGA calls on Homeland Security to improve data sharing policies, infrastructure

In response to the 2022 Quadrennial Homeland Security Review, the Western Governors’ Association submitted the Governors’ policy resolution, Utilizing State Data in Federal Decision Making. The correspondence of Nov. 15, signed by WGA Executive Director Jim Ogsbury, highlighted the importance of state data in federal decision making and the need to modernize the nation’s data infrastructure to encourage more robust collaboration. “Improvements in intergovernmental data sharing, stewardship, integration, protection, and utilization will require robust federal investments in modern data infrastructure, technology, and training,” the letter read.
