In correspondence with the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, Western Governors supported the reauthorization of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act.
In the letter of September 16, 2026, signed by WGA Executive Director Jack Waldorf, Western Governors also supported expanding direct funding options for tribal housing entities and improving federal consultation with federally- and state-recognized tribal governments on new funding and program changes.
