In a letter to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Western Governors expressed appreciation for the department’s efforts to protect the cybersecurity of the nation’s infrastructure in the Cyber Incident Reporting for Critical Infrastructure Act. The letter of Dec. 5, signed by WGA Chair Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, and WGA Vice-Chair Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon, applauded the agency’s work to utilize state data in federal decision-making and encouraged federal agencies to ensure that state and local partners have access to timely and reliable federal datasets. “We are pleased that CISA is addressing the need to understand existing incident reporting requirements, such as state regulations and any areas of overlap, duplication, or conflict with these regulations,” the letter read.
