TESTIMONY: WGA shares Governors’ policy for Senate hearing on ‘Impact of Invasive Species’

WGA Executive Director Jim Ogsbury shared the Western Governors' policy on invasive species with the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources Subcommittee on Water and Power on March 4, 2020. The written testimony highlighted the policy recommendations generated by Hawai’i Gov. David Ige's Biosecurity and Invasive Species Initiative, including enhanced biosecurity practices and improved cross-boundary collaboration. The testimony for the "Hearing to Examine the Impact of Invasive Species on Bureau of Reclamation Facilities and Management of Water Resources in the West" also noted WGA's creation of a Western Invasive Species Council to enhance coordination between states and advocate for regional needs at the federal level.
