Western Governors’ Association Executive Director Jim Ogsbury offered testimony on March 4, 2020 to the House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies. The testimony provided comment on two items within the jurisdiction of the Department of Commerce for FY 2021 appropriations and activities: adequate and dedicated funding for both the National Integrated Drought Information System (NIDIS) program, which promotes a coordinated and integrated approach to managing future drought, as well as the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA, which strives to improve the accuracy of broadband data coverage measurements.
