LETTER: Western Governors back proposals to improve TV White Spaces delivery of rural broadband

Western Governors support proposed updates to improve the utility of TV White Spaces technology that will enable improved broadband coverage in rural communities. The Governors’ backing came in response to the Federal Communications Commission’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on “Unlicensed White Space Device Operations in the Television Bands.” The April 22, 2020, outreach signed by Western Governors’ Association Executive Director Jim Ogsbury also expressed appreciation for the Commission’s “efforts to support creative broadband connectivity strategies in rural areas” and encouraged use of the “expertise of Governors and state broadband offices as you consider and implement the changes.” Read, download the letter
