Letter: Governors support Health Resources and Services Administration decision to expand counties eligible for rural health programs

Western Governors support a proposed change by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of its definition of rural areas, as it expands the number of counties eligible for its health grant programs. "Revising the geographic eligibility for (these) grants will increase access to health care for underserved populations and build capacity in rural areas," notes the letter signed by WGA Chair Oregon Gov. Kate Brown and Vice Chair Idaho Gov. Brad Little. "WGA appreciates (the) commitment to ensuring that there are clear, consistent and data-driven methods for defining rural areas in the United States." Read, download letter
