Governors share policy on infrastructure permitting, planning with Federal Highway Administration

Western Governors shared their policy with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) on procedures to promote the siting of energy, alternative fueling, and telecommunications infrastructure in federal-aid and direct federal highway rights-of-way. The outreach in response to the guidance document, State DOTs Leveraging Alternative Uses of the Highway Right-of-Way, notes that efficient planning, permitting and strategy is a priority of all Western Governors and that they "would welcome the opportunity to work closely with FHWA ...on implementation of the guidance."
