WGA submits policy strategies to combat the fentanyl crisis to the Senate Finance Committee

In correspondence with the Senate Finance Committee, the Western Governors’ Association (WGA) submitted bipartisan policy recommendations following the Committee’s May 23, 2024, hearing, Front Lines of the Fentanyl Crisis: Supporting Communities and Combating Addiction through Prevention and Treatment. In the letter of May 29, 2024, signed by WGA executive director Jack Waldorf, WGA emphasized that “combating the opioid crisis requires a comprehensive approach that reflects the complexity of the problem – from the potency and availability of these drugs to the social and economic damage that they impose – across all levels of government and the continuum of care.” Read the full correspondence for further details
