WGA submits bipartisan policy recommendations on impacts of government shutdown on native communities

In correspondence with the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, WGA submitted bipartisan policy recommendations in light of the Committee’s hearing, Impacts of Government Shutdowns and Agency Reductions in Force on Native Communities. In the letter, signed by WGA Executive Director Jack Waldorf, WGA shared the Governors’ collective policy resolutions on missing and murdered indigenous persons, and physical and behavioral health. “The resolutions contain Western Governors’ recommendations addressing the need to maintain essential services for tribal communities during lapses in federal funding,” reads the letter. Read the correspondence in full for further details.
