WGA shares recommendations to strengthen safety in tribal communities

In correspondence with the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance, WGA shared bipartisan policy recommendations related to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons Crisis. The September 15 letter, signed by WGA Executive Director Jack Waldorf, shared the Governors’ practical, bipartisan policy on this issue. “Western Governors are concerned about the disproportionate risk that American Indian and Alaska Native people, particularly women, will experience violence, murder, or go missing, and have developed several bipartisan recommendations to address this crisis,” reads the letter. Read the correspondence in full for further details.
