WGA shares infrastructure, transportation policy in advance of Senate Homeland Security hearing

The Western Governors’ Association shared policy related to infrastructure permitting and environmental review processes with the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Committee on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs in advance of the hearing, Oversight of Federal Infrastructure Permitting and FAST-41.

The outreach from WGA Executive Director Jim Ogsbury to Chairman Rob Portman and Ranking Member Tom Carper reiterates Western Governors’ support for streamlining processes “without shortening timelines for state input and consultation, or compromising natural resource, wildlife, environmental, or cultural values.”

The April 29, 2019 letter included WGA Policy Resolution 2018-15, Modernizing Western Infrastructure; WGA Policy Resolution 2018-06, Transportation Infrastructure in the Western United States; and WGA Policy Resolution 2017-01, Building a Stronger State-Federal Relationship, as well as previous outreach.
