The Western Governors’ Association shared support for more efficient infrastructure permitting and environmental review processes in advance of a House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Highways and Transit hearing.

“Terrain and landownership patterns in the West underscore the purpose and vital need for a federal role in surface transportation,” asserts the March 11, 2019 letter from WGA Executive Director James D. Ogsbury. “Western states are responsible for vast expanses of national highways and interstates that serve as critical freight and transportation routes for the nation.”

In addition to the March 11, 2019 letter, WGA included its Policy Resolutions Transportation Infrastructure in the Western United States and Modernizing Western Infrastructure.
