Western Governors provide input on the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Request for Information on America’s Great Corridors of Commerce

In correspondence with Build America Bureau Director Morteza Farajian, Western Governors provided input on the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Request for Information (RFI) on America’s Great Corridors of Commerce (91 FR 53479).  The RFI seeks feedback on the AGCC initiative, which is a voluntary process to propose corridors for colocation of utility infrastructure in transportation rights-of-way through an innovative public-private partnership.

In the letter of October 30, Western Governors recognize the critical need to expand linear infrastructure, including broadband and electric transmission, to support economic growth, connect communities, and meet growing energy demand. The Governors express support for infrastructure colocation efforts where appropriate and highlight the importance of state-federal cooperation to expedite permitting processes.
