The Western Governors’ Association hosted the webinar, Local Groups in Land Management, on Oct. 21, 2020. The presentation opened with remarks by Idaho Gov. Brad Little on a cross-boundary approach to resource management in the West and the contributions of local communities to those efforts. The Governor included examples of effective local partnerships in Idaho, including Rangeland Fire Protection Associations.
The Governor's speech was followed by a discussion with representatives of the Western Landowners Alliance, The Nature Conservancy, and Colorado Counties, Inc. They shared examples of effective cross boundary management and discussed the role that WGA's Working Lands Roundtable plays in their work on western policy issues.
The webinar was part of a series for the Working Lands Roundtable, a platform for WGA's work on natural resource policy, focusing on cross-boundary and multi-disciplinary resource management issues in the West.
