The Western Governors’ Association 2020 Winter Meeting featured 12 Western Governors, hosted by WGA Chair and Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, discussing the most important issues facing the West.
Gov. Brown launched the meeting with a keynote that offered an update on work to date on the Electric Vehicles Roadmap Initiative. The Chair Initiative is designed to pursue opportunities to improve the planning, siting and coordination of electric vehicles infrastructure in western states.
The Governor noted that an emphasis on the expansion of electric vehicles enables the use of energy sources such as solar, wind and water that are “found right here in the West.” And she added, “facilitating electric vehicles isn’t a political imperative, it’s an economic one.”
