WGA outlines recommendations for siting electric vehicle infrastructure with the House Subcommittee on Energy

As part of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce’s hearing, Charging Forward: Securing American Manufacturing and Our EV Future, the Western Governors’ Association submitted testimony outlining the Governors’ policy priorities on electric vehicle infrastructure planning and investment. The letter of March 8, signed by WGA Executive Director Jim Ogsbury, expressed the importance of a state-federal partnership to modernize the surface transportation network, especially in rural areas. “Western states face a suite of challenges related to planning and siting EV infrastructure,” the letter read. “Creating and implementing efficient practices for permitting and siting EV infrastructure on federal lands will help support continued tourism and economic opportunities across the West.” Read, download the letter to see the full set of recommendations.
