Western Governors recommend improvements for broadband data, mapping and investments to House subcommittee

The Western Governors’ Association stressed the need for expanded access to high-speed internet throughout the West in comments submitted to the House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology for its hearing, Broadband Equity: Addressing Disparities in Access and Affordability. The comments of May 6, 2021, signed by WGA Executive Director Jim Ogsbury, “recommend improvements in broadband data and mapping and investments in scalable infrastructure.” The outreach, which included the WGA Policy Resolution Broadband Connectivity, also expressed a desire for “increased flexibility within the Federal Communication Commission’s E-Rate Program to deliver home connectivity solutions for unserved and underserved students.” Read, download the comments
