LETTER: WGA advocates for more funding by Congress to state agencies for management of Chronic Wasting Disease

The Western Governors’ Association supports expanded funding to state fish and wildlife agencies for management of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in wildlife populations. WGA's outreach of Nov. 14, 2019 to Congressional leadership notes the disease exists in at least 24 states (including several in the West), and the economic burdens of managing the disease falls largely on state agencies. "Western Governors look forward to working with you to identify and promote legislative efforts to support state wildlife management agencies in their fight against CWD," concludes the letter signed by WGA Executive Director Jim Ogsbury.  Read, download the letter
