LETTER: Western Governors urge House to support Restore Our Parks and Public Lands Act

Western Governors urge House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to address the deferred maintenance backlog at the National Park Service through the Restore Our Parks and Public Lands Act. “National Parks deferred maintenance projects total over $12 billion in estimated costs,” states the July 25, 2019 letter signed by WGA Chair North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and Vice Chair Oregon Gov. Kate Brown. “Swift action is needed to ensure that deferred maintenance does not negatively affect park visitor experience and economic activity in gateway communities.” Read, download the letter.
