The Western Governors’ Species Conservation and Endangered Species Act Initiative was the central policy effort of Wyoming Governor Matt Mead as Chair of the Western Governors’ Association. The Initiative created a mechanism for states and stakeholders to share best practices in species management, promote the role of states in species conservation, and explore options for improving the efficiency of the Endangered Species Act. A report on the Initiative was released at WGA’s 2017 Annual Meeting in Montana. Learn more by watching the video.
