The 2024 Annual Report of the Western Governors' Association highlights the past year’s policy work on topics such as disaster preparedness, health care, land management, rural development, energy, infrastructure permitting, and housing, just to name a few.
The report also details the work of the Decarbonizing the West initiative, the central policy effort of WGA's most recent Chair, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, as well as the various WGA convenings of the past year, including the Winter and Annual meetings, and the 40th Anniversary celebration of WGA’s founding.
“Over the past year, the WGA team has gone through old records, documents, and photos that have been compiled into an online repository to showcase WGA’s historical work, and I can tell you one thing for sure: Western Governors are an incredibly dynamic group of leaders,” Jack Waldorf, WGA’s Executive Director, wrote. “It’s amazing to see how much the Association has evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of the region while staying true to its core principles.”
