LETTER: WGA urges Congress to address infrastructure, maintenance at National Parks

The Western Governors’ Association urges Congress to address infrastructure and maintenance at national parks. WGA submitted Policy Resolution 2019-07, National Parks and the West, which communicates governors’ support for legislative efforts to act on these needs, to Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources Chairman Lisa Murkowski and Ranking Member Joe Manchin, and House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Raul Grijalva and Ranking Member Rob Bishop. “Not adequately addressing the maintenance needs at National Parks is already having negative effects on important infrastructure needs at our nation’s parks, including road and bridge safety, and water and sanitation facilities,” asserts the June 18, 2019 letter signed by WGA Executive Director Jim Ogsbury.
