LETTER: Western Governors urge Forest Service to meaningfully engage with states on NEPA rulemaking review

Western Governors urge the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) to “meaningfully engage with states” as the agency reviews its National Environmental Policy Act and rulemaking processes. “Western Governors look forward to working with USFS to develop regional, collaborative solutions to challenges associated with wildfire mitigation and response, vegetation management, and cheatgrass and invasive species,” states the July 23, 2019 letter to USFS Chief Vickie Christiansen signed by WGA Chair North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and WGA Vice Chair Oregon Gov. Kate Brown. Read, download the letter.
