Western Governors urge the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) to consult with states in any review of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations. The April 8, 2019 outreach to CEQ Chair and Managing Director Mary Neumayr highlights how states authorized to assume the Federal Highway Administration’s NEPA responsibilities for federal highway projects have succeeded in "reducing the timelines for project approval." The letter signed by WGA Chair Hawaii Gov. David Ige and WGA Vice Chair North Dakota Gov.
