The Western Governors' Association has reached out to House and Senate subcommittees to share their policy on water in the West. In advance of the House Subcommittee on Water and Environment March 23, 2021 hearing on “The Water Resources Development Act of 2020: Status of Essential Provisions," the Governors shared policy resolutions and noted the importance of the legislation, "which helps support water infrastructure construction and maintenance, as well as invasive species management, across the West." The Governors also shared relevant policy resolutions for the Senate Subcommittee on Water and Power hearing in advance of its March 24, 2021 hearing on natural infrastructure and western water management. WGA subsequently on March 26, 2021 submitted Governors' policy positions to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the "Water Resources Development Act" and expressed appreciation for the stakeholder sessions hosted by the Corps regarding implementation of the act.
