WGA shares Governors’ policy on groundwater management for Senate hearing

The Western Governors’ Association has submitted materials that express states’ legal authority over groundwater resources for an oversight hearing of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.

The materials submitted for the April 18, 2018 hearing “The Appropriate Role of States and the Federal Government in Protecting Groundwater” include WGA Policy Resolutions on water resource management and water quality, as well as related outreach by Western Governors.

"On behalf of the Western Governors, I respectfully request that these materials be included in the permanent record of the hearing, as they articulate the Governors’ policy positions on this important issue," wrote WGA Executive Director James D. Ogsbury to Committee Chairman John Barrasso and Ranking Member Thomas Carper.
