WGA announces new policy associate, meeting planner

The Western Governors' Association is pleased to announce the hiring of Laura Cutlip as Policy Associate and Amanda Nelson as Meeting Planner.

Cutlip, who holds a B.A. in Environmental Policy from Colorado College, initially joined the team as a WGA Policy Fellow. In addition to supporting cross-boundary projects under the Memorandum of Understanding between WGA and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Laura contributes to WGA’s Collaborative Conservation Task Force and the Western Governors' Reimagining the Rural West Initiative.

Nelson, a long-time contractor for WGA’s Annual Meeting and Winter Meetings, joined the team prior to the 2019 annual meeting in Colorado. As Meeting Planner, Nelson leads WGA planning efforts for its twice-annual Governors’ events. She earned a B.B.A. from the University of Iowa-Henry B. Tippie College of Business.

“The addition of Laura to our policy team and Amanda to lead WGA meeting planning significantly strengthens the WGA enterprise,” said Jim Ogsbury, WGA Executive Director. “Their work helps drive the Association’s most outward-facing efforts, and we’re thrilled to officially welcome them aboard.”
