The Western Governors’ Association (WGA) wrote to the House Agriculture and Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committees to highlight some of the Governors’ priorities for the 2023 Farm Bill. The letters of September 6, 2023, signed by Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, WGA’s Chair, and New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, WGA’s Vice Chair, also encouraged the Committees “to consult with and consider [Western Governors] a useful resource for the Committee and its members as you discuss various policy options and develop Farm Bill legislation,” as “agriculture, conservation, rural development, and forestry are issues of particular significance in our region and investments in these areas are of critical importance to western states and territories.” Read the full correspondence (House letter, Senate Letter) for additional information.
