WGA shares reforms with Secretary Zinke to encourage authentic collaboration between states, Department of Interior

The Western Governors’ Association shared a menu of reforms with Department of the Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke on October 16, 2017 in response to President Trump’s Executive Order, Enforcing the Regulatory Reform Agenda.

Western Governors assert that one of the most important and durable reforms the President could undertake is to work with them to realign the relationship of the federal government and states to operate as a true partnership.

The Executive Order requires that federal agencies seek input and assistance from states. WGA's menu of reforms, designed to help realign the state-federal relationship, are informed by Governors’ past interactions with the DOI. The comments also referenced WGA Policy Resolution 2017-01, Building a Stronger State Federal Relationship. Read, download the comments.
