WGA advocates for responsible vegetation management to Energy and Natural Resources Committee

The Western Governors’ Association sent a letter on responsible vegetation management to Chairman Lisa Murkowski and Ranking Member Maria Cantwell of the Senate Committee of Energy and Natural Resources.

Responsible vegetation management has long been an area of focus in western states, as it ensures reliable electricity service and reduces the risk of wildfires and fire hazards. Included in the letter sent on Sept. 19, 2017, were:

The Letter was sent in advance of the Committee’s hearing to receive testimony on Section 2310 of S. 1460, the Energy and Natural Resources Act of 2017, and H.R. 1873, the Electricity Reliability and Forest Protection Act.
