Get involved in National Invasive Species Awareness Week Feb. 26-March 2

Invasive species create significant economic and environmental challenges. Western Governors have identified the rapid spread of invasive species as a top environmental problem in the region.

Building awareness about the impact of invasive species such as cheatgrass and zebra and quagga mussels is the first step towards combatting their spread. This week (Feb. 26-March 2) learn more and participate in National Invasive Species Awareness Week by attending events and webinars.

Experts from the National Invasive Species Council, Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Agriculture and the Forest Service will host in-person seminars in Washington, D.C., webinars on early detection and rapid response, and legal issues will be available online. For a full schedule of events, visit the National Invasive Species Awareness Week website.
