WGA hosts Sept. 7 webinar on Species Conservation Funding

The Western Governors' Association will host a webinar on Sept. 7 as part of its ongoing series for the Species Conservation and the Endangered Species Act Initiative.

Species Conservation Funding will examine current methods of funding species conservation efforts, as well as explore challenges and opportunities to leveraging additional funding for conservation of at-risk and endangered species. Panelists will include: Timothy Male, Executive Director at the Environmental Policy Innovation Center; Christy Plumer, Chief Conservation Officer, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership; and Gary Frazer, Assistant Director for Endangered Species, U.S. Forest Service.

The Species Conservation and the Endangered Species Act Initiative was launched in 2015 by Wyoming Governor Matt Mead in his capacity as WGA Chairman. The WGA policy team is in the midst of a multi-year work plan to advance the objectives of the initiative based on the policy resolution, Species Conservation and the Endangered Species Act. Here's where to read and download the Year Two Recommendations that have been incorporated by reference into the resolution.
