The Western Governors' Association offers a monthly roundup of news showcasing the work of Western Governors in economic development, natural resources, education, health and safety, and other areas. Here is what the Western Governors have been working on recently:

ARIZONA Gov. Doug Ducey announced an agreement with Airbnb to streamline the home-sharing economy.

CALIFORNIA Gov. Jerry Brown celebrated the release of final environmental documents for WaterFix, an effort to modernize the state's water infrastructure.

COLORADO Gov. John Hickenlooper announced a joint action with Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval and Utah Gov. Gary Herbert to build a regional electric vehicle corridor.

HAWAII Gov. David Ige hosted the historic Pearl Harbor visit of President Barack Obama and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

IDAHO Gov. Butch Otter pledged to make education his top legislative priority.

OKLAHOMA Gov. Mary Fallin announced a goal to increase post-secondary education and training attainment.

OREGON Gov. Kate Brown celebrated a successful first year of the state’s automatic voter registration system.

SOUTH DAKOTA Gov. Dennis Daugaard, WGA Vice Chair, received recommendations from his Smart on Crime Workgroup.

TEXAS Gov. Greg Abbott awarded an $8 million grant to improve emergency and long-term placements for up the state’s neediest foster children.

UTAH Gov. Gary Herbert broke ground on a new aerospace research facility.

WASHINGTON Gov. Jay Inslee released a plan to fully fund basic education, promote strategies to recruit great teachers and support struggling students.

WYOMING Gov. Matt Mead joined Montana Gov. Steve Bullock in identifying carbon capture opportunities.
