LETTER: WGA highlights agriculture, conservation priorities in 2018 Farm Bill

The Western Governors’ Association shared policy priorities of Western Governors in the 2018 Farm Bill with leadership of the House Committee on Agriculture in a letter sent on April 17. “Western Governors support collaborative, targeted and voluntary conservation to address locally identified natural resource concerns for farm, rangeland, and forest resources on private and public lands,” notes the letter signed by WGA Executive Director James D. Ogsbury. The letter, which also expressed Governors’ gratitude for the Committee’s bipartisan effort to help end the budgetary practice of fire borrowing, references WGA policy resolutions 2017-09, Western Agriculture; 2017-10, National Forest and Rangeland Management; and 2018-02, Public Lands Grazing.
