LETTER: Western Governors urge FCC support for rural internet via TV White Spaces technology

Western Governors urged Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai to support deployment of TV White Spaces (TVWS) technology that delivers reliable internet access at lower costs than broadband infrastructure. The April 24, 2018 letter noted "many western communities lack access to broadband internet.” By enabling TVWS through the reservation of "consistent access to spectrum," the Governors assert that the FCC will "assure that rural America shares in the economic, medical, and educational benefits that will result from expanded access."
