LETTER: Western Governors request collaboration with DOI on invasive mussels

On June 22, 2017, Western Governors sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke expressing concern about the economic and ecologic impacts caused by invasive species on western landscapes and Pacific Islands. Specifically, the risks posed by quagga and zebra mussels, which have already infested water bodies across the West, were addressed. The letter presented examples of specific actions being taken by states, and requested closer collaboration between the Department of the Interior and states in addressing invasive mussels.  Read, download the Letter.
