LETTER: Western Governors encourage federal policies that encourage trade stability

Western Governors have reached out to U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in support of federal policies that "continue providing the stability and certainty upon which successful trade relationships and western economies depend." The Governors, in a letter sent on Feb. 14, 2018, note that agreements between the U.S. and its biggest trade partners, Canada and Mexico, “provide a foundation for citizens to engage in productive international trade and enhance our economic competitiveness." They conclude: "Western Governors support the economic opportunities for American goods and businesses facilitated by international trade agreements and encourage the Department to maintain U.S. trade policies."
