LETTER: WGA commends WAFWA, WASDA on Western Weed Action Plan to combat invasive plants

The Western Governors’ Association commends the Western Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (WAFWA) and Western Association of State Departments of Agriculture (WASDA) on the recent completion of the Western Weed Action Plan. The Plan provides a framework to confront the effects of invasive plants in the sagebrush biome and addresses issues such as funding, policy and regulation. The Sept. 17, 2019 letters signed by WGA Executive Director Jim Ogsbury notes the association's Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to collaborate on various challenges facing western landscapes, including invasive grasses, and invites the organizations to work with WGA as it implements that element of the MOU.
