LETTER: Western Governors share developments for BLM, USFS to consider in energy corridors review

CATEGORY:
Energy, The West

Western Governors urge the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and U.S. Forest Service (USFS) to consider new developments as they move forward with their review of the pipeline, transmission and distribution right-of-way corridors on federal lands in the West. The Sept. 26, 2018 outreach to BLM Acting Director Brian Steed and USFS Interim Chief Vicki Christiansen, signed by WGA Chair Hawaii Gov. David Ige and WGA Vice Chair North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, describes changes in habitat and wildlife management, broadband infrastructure and vegetation management and wildfire considerations. It also encourages the agencies to consider Western Governors as a resource and partner in addressing these issues. Read, download the letter.
